COURSE TYPE

One-week intensive course with lectures and seminars.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The advanced level course focuses on surface treatment and calendering technologies as well as chemistry and interactions of pigment coating components.

Detailed lectures are given on the rheological and surface chemical characteristics required by the pigment coating techniques, differences that arise in coating structures and related properties of coated paper. Characterization techniques of physical, chemical and functional properties of coatings, including the printability of pigment coated paper are also be covered.

Written examinations will be arranged after the course at times and places that are decided during the course. The course language is English.
