COURSE DESCRIPTION

The students will get good insights into the occurrence and chemistry of extractives and pitch in wood, pulping, and bleaching. Furthermore, both state-of-the art analytical methods for surface analysis, pitch and deposits in papermaking, as well as pitch control in practice in industry will be discussed. The course also deals with aspects of wood extractives in novel bioproducts.
